Prof. Georg Gesk's 30-year stint in China began in 1986. Today, he is a China expert fluent in Chinese and with a deep understanding of Chinese law and Eastern culture and philosophy.Recently, he shared his story with Science and Technology Daily as well as his unique insights into China's achievements since the reform and opening up. He said, the Gesks, a German family, had a rich experience of multicultural exchanges and the advantage of speaking foreign languages such as Polish, Hebrew and Russian, but no one had ever been exposed to Chinese except for himself.
The 2024 Beijing International Friendship Forest Tree Planting Event, held in Changping district in Beijing recently, attracted nearly 200 people, including foreign envoys to China, foreign experts and students from 47 countries.

In 2017, Rwandan student Samuel Ntakirutimana, currently a postdoctoral researcher at Tianjin University (TJU), came to Guangzhou for the very first time, excited at the prospects of starting a new life studying in China. He referred to Guangzhou, one of the largest cities in south China, as a "dynamic and vibrant place" with many skyscrapers and crowds of bustling people. Since then,?Ntakirutimana has been furthering his studies at TJU in Tianjin and gained a deep understanding of China.

Professor Francis Gregory Snyder is an internationally recognized expert on food safety law, WTO law and EU law. He served as dean of the Law Department of the European University Institute and Honorary Professor of the London School of Economics and Political Science, and is now chair professor at School of Transnational Law, Peking University.
